NOTE • Long Stitch = Insert the right-hand needle into the indicated stitch 8 rows below and knit it, drawing up a long loop; transfer the loop onto the left-hand needle and knit it together with the next stitch on the needle.

Rows 1 and 7 (RS): *K7, p7; repeat from the * ending k7.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts.
Rows 3, 5, 13, and 15: Knit across.
Row 9: *K10, make a long stitch, k3; repeat from * ending k7.
Rows 11 and 17: *P7, k7; repeat from the * across, ending with p7.
Row 19: *K3, make a long stitch, k10; repeat from the * end k3, make a long stitch, k3.
Row 20: As Row 2.

Repeat Rows 1–20 for the pattern.
