Kennebec River Knit Shawl

I went to Michaels the other day and found some nice FREE pattern cards. I thought the shawl would be a great project to knit while watching TV. Only one row repeat... doesn't get any easier.
The yarn I use is Merino Wool and not the Lion Brand type it ask for in the pattern.

ABBREVIATIONS:
Kfb = Knit in Front and Back St(s) = Stitch(es)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: About 27" [68.5 cm] at longest and 64" [162.5 cm] at widest.
GAUGE: 20 sts = about 4" [10 cm] in Garter st (k every st on every row); be sure to check your gauge

STITCH EXPLANATION:
· KFB (Knit in Front and Back): Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then knit through back of same stitch (1 st increased).

NOTES:
· Shawl is worked in one piece, back and forth in rows, from lower point upwards.
· Increases are worked at beginning of every row to shape shawl.
· A circular needle is used to accommodate the stitches. Work back and forth on the circular needle as if working on straight needles.

SHAWL:
Cast on 3 sts.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Kfb, knit to end of row (4 sts).

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 27" [68.5 cm] from beginning or until only enough yarn remains to bind off.

Bind off. Weave in ends.
