First Retirement Project

Created a new Knitting dress design. The sleeves and neck opening of the dress is newly designed. It's the first doll dress I have not designed anything in years. But now since I have retired I have time again to start knitting and designing. The dress came out just the way I envisioned it. My next step is to resize the pattern for a toddler. I haven't designed any knitwear in a very long time. It is fun being creative!

It is fun knitting little things ...

... they are faster to knit and to complete, you can try a new pattern and see how it looks like before you start a bigger project with the same pattern. It happened more than just one time to me that halfway through the project I realized "I don't like it".

The dress, which I plan to knit for my friend's first female grandbaby when the doll dress comes out the way I hope. As you can see here on my second try working on a different shape of the dress.

Castile-Cardigan-Texture

I am thinking about what project I start could after my retirement on June 11., Today I got this in my email from Interweave Knitting. Simple stitches, nice texture. This easy pattern combination looks great as you can see in the picture below. I might change the way the sleeves are done since I don't like the feel of  "t-shaped" garments because it always feels bulky under the arms.

Click on the picture it will get you to Interweave's website in case you like to read up on it.

Fair Isle Cardigan

I knitted this sweater back in 2006. The yarns I used were Palette Fair Isle #50455 and the pattern was created by Kathleen Taylor. I am going to knit another cardigan just like that one in different colors. I call it my second half of the 2020 knitting project. I haven't knitted in a while, I mean a cardigan. I am currently knitting a shawl which is halfway done.

Current Project...

Naturally, before one decides and starts a new project the old one should be finished first. I started this shawl back in December. I saw it in Summer 19 Knitscene and liked it. I copied the pattern and started knitting. The pattern is called IGNITION POINT SHAWL by Martha Wissing. The yarn I used is called Dazzling by Yarn Bee and the color I've chosen is Sunrise/15. I have not gotten far yet, maybe about 1/3 of it. Tomorrow Sunday I have plans to sit listen to some music and knit.

2007 Barbara Walker knitting project

This was a project I worked on in 2007. It was a birthday gift for my husband. I used a pattern from the Barbara Walker "The Learn-To-Afghan" book.
